Tevel is a good base: within half an hour there is a wine region, forest and a thermal bath. You need a car for all of them; parking at the house is free.
Annafürdő thermal baths, Lengyel
Distance:~10 km
The nearest baths, barely fifteen minutes away. A small, family-run thermal bath among the hills, with pools and a grassy area to rest on. Enough for one cooler afternoon.
Szekszárd wine region
Distance:~25 km
Kadarka and Bikavér, cellar rows and press houses. It is worth booking a tasting in advance: the smaller family wineries only receive guests by appointment. If you go tasting, arrange a driver.
Óbánya and the Eastern Mecsek
Distance:~30 km
A small valley village of potters, surrounded by beech forest and marked hiking trails. The Óbánya valley stays cool even in summer and follows a stream. Bring proper shoes.
Pécs
Distance:~60 km
An hour by car. The Zsolnay Quarter, the cathedral, the Cella Septichora and Király street. If you give it a whole day, set off in the morning.
